Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in the presence of the Public Security Chief, held talks with religious scholars and clerics led by Shaikh Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Sa’ad.
He welcomed them, thanking them for their keen interest to boost cooperation, serve the nation and preserve social security.
Discussions focused on issues including corruption, irregularities and abuses published by some social networking websites.
The Interior Minister underscored the need to support the security officers in what they face when performing their duties to ensure security of the nation and people in Bahrain.
He updated the delegation on a detailed statistics about cases and procedures taken to tackle them, stressing that no one is above the law.
He also emphasized the key role played by religious scholars and clerics in providing good guidance for the youth, in line with Islamic teachings and precepts as well as Bahraini customs and traditions.
The meeting was attended by the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs, the Director General of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Evidence, the Director General of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security and the Media Security Director.
