YK Almoayyed & Sons, exclusive distributors of Nissan in Bahrain, unveiled the Sentra, adding a new dimension to their lead role in the market in the premium compact sedan segment.
The Japanese carmaker’s newest premium compact sedan model, which was unveiled at a VIP launch at the Nissan Showroom in Sitra, goes on public display at Bahrain CityCentre from tomorrow (Feb 27). The Nissan Sentra, available in 1.6-litre or 1.8-litre configurations, offers drivers the spaciousness and comfort of cars usually found in the larger segment, as well as technology usually associated with much more expensive cars.
“The compact sedan segment is the highest volume sales segment in Bahrain, and one in which Nissan is currently the market leader with the Sunny and Tiida models. The introduction of the Sentra, a unique entry within its class, is a further extension of this strategy which also ups the playing field for the industry as a whole,” Paul Baker, General Manager, Nissan, said.
“Nissan saw solid sales growth in Bahrain last year, up 44% over the previous year. In 2012 Nissan introduced a range of new and redesigned models in Bahrain, including the Sunny, Micra, Altima and 370Z. The Sentra extends this range even further, allowing Nissan to meet desires of an increasingly demanding market segment.”
Baker explained that the Sentra is a technological leap in this market segment due to the fact that many of the Sentra’s technologies, such as its automatic dual-zone climate control system, navigation system, rearview camera and intelligent key and push engine start, have never been seen in cars of this class before.
“Positioned to give an accessible premium experience, the Nissan Sentra will appeal to the aspirational, smart and savvy compact sedan buyer. Not only does Nissan Sentra over-deliver on the basics, and boast a sophisticated modern design, but its class-defying features and extra spaciousness make it a unique model in its class. The end result is an enhanced driving experience with an upscale aesthetic usually associated with large-sized vehicles.”
The price of the Nissan Sentra starts at BD6295. The theme of the launch and the ongoing marketing campaign, titled “Beauty Meets Brains”, aims to reflect the new vehicle’s stylish body and its intelligent systems. It is part of a region-wide Middle Eastern launch on which millions of dollars is being spent.
