Thirteen suspects, four in custody and nine still at large, have been referred to the High Criminal Court for trial after investigations into an arson attack on a car warehouse, last November in Sitra, were completed by the Public Prosecution, Central Governorate Prosecutor Hamad Shahin said.
The suspects will appear before the court on March 27 on different charges, including deliberate arson, jeopardizing people’s life and their properties, taking part in all illegal gathering in a public place to commit crimes and disrupt public security and possessing Molotov Cocktails.
The suspects were accused of tying up the security guards of a commercial company and setting ablaze 59 new cars in the warehouse.
Two of the suspects pleaded guilty to some of the accusations, during investigations, adding that the remaining ones also participated in the crime which caused damage worth BD 338, 575, the prosecutor pointed out.
