As part of the official visit by the Economic Delegation to the United Kingdom to participate in London Economic Forum, Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro met with the General Director of Middle East Association Matthew Smith in presence of Bahrain Ambassador to the United Kingdom Alice Samaan and Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr. Essam Fakhro and David Loyed from the Association and a number of chamber board members and Ministry’s officials.
The minister stressed at the beginning of the meeting Bahrain’s Government welcome all international investment in all economic sectors, referring to the qualified economic structure that attract and localize large projects with value added to the national economy, especially under large facilities and procedures pursued by the government at the present time which encouraged many international companies to select Bahrain as a hub for their operations in the region.
Dr. Fakhro praised the active role of Middle East Association in enhancing mutual relations between Arab Countries and the United Kingdom. The Minister stressed in this regard government keenness to highlight investment potential of Bahrain and soft the atmosphere to establish projects in various sectors. He also confirmed that Bahraini-British relations are long standing and well established and is based on principles of cooperation and coordination.
They also reviewed during the meeting many of the economic issues and joint projects between the parties and efforts undertaken to enhance economic relations between the two countries.
