Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee at the Representatives Council MP Abdul Rahman Rashid Bumjaid has requested an immediate emergency meeting with the Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa in order to be updated on the security situation in the kingdom amid the recent escalations in terrorist acts aiming to undermine civic peace and drag the country into a repugnant sectarian strife.
He said that during the meeting, the Minister will inform the representatives of the Bahraini people about the security and legal measures to be taken by the relevant sides, in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to take the necessary procedures in order to safeguard national security, stability and unity and hold accountable those who commit all forms of terrorist acts, along with those who incite them and those who collaborate with them.
He added the Minister will update members of the committee on the measures to be taken to apply the law to those who conducted the shameful terrorist crime which targeted worshippers in the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Mosque in Riffa and the procedures to be taken against the leaders of the sedition ring in the kingdom and those who back them.
