The Chairman of the Supreme Council for Vocational Training and Minister of Labour, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, emphasized that the Government provision of various aspects of support to major companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain which enjoy capable, efficacious Bahraini leaderships who contribute into these companies’ key positive role in pushing forwards the wheel of current economic development in the Kingdom, citing the economic developmental weight of these companies and their effective contribution in employing Bahraini citizens and boosting productivity at various workplaces. This boosted the vitality and strength of our national economy and made it capable of surmounting all regional and international economic challenges.
The Minister of Labor, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, convened a meeting with members of the joint committee of major companies in the presence of BCCI’s chairman Dr. Essam Abdullah Fakhro in addition to a number of chairmen of boards of directors and CEOs of major companies, and senior ministry officials.
The Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the major companies on their contributions and support to the Ministry of Labor’s policies in successfully increasing the ratio of Bahraini employees and achieving stability, cohesion, constant development of the labor market in various productive and industrial sectors. The Minister also praised cooperation on the part of these companies with all government ministries and bodies.
The BCCI’s chairman, Dr. Essam Abdullah Fakhro, the CEO of Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) cum Chairman of the joint committee of major companies, Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, accentuated close and fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and major companies and establishments operating in the private sector and praised the positive results and accomplishments resultant from such constant and fruitful cooperation.
During the meeting, indices of the commercial and economic situation in the Kingdom were discussed in the light of latest transformations and developments in the labor market and the accomplishments made by companies in maintaining Bahrainization ratio as per proficiency in executive, middle and lower echelons in various productive sectors. The meeting also discussed the relevant issues, including positive results achieved after closure and addressing of the dossier of demobilized employees in the aftermath of the February-March 2011 incidents in the Kingdom, asserting continuity of addressing any issue or pertinent consequences of this subject in a spirit of positive cooperation. The addressing of this dossier is an example to be followed in terms of consecration of patriotic spirit and surmounting difficult conditions which had been overcome by the country.
The meeting also explored mechanisms in major firms in dealing with diversity of trade unionism and also explored the experience of companies which have numerous trade union associations and the positive development in the relationship between corporate management and trade union associations’ board of directors for the sake of boosting productivity and economic development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
