The General Organization for Youth and Sports (GOYS) Directorate of Youth Centers and Organizations organized a seminar on breast cancer combating themed (You can beat cancer and survive) as part of the GOYS’ Women’s Committee activities and programs in cooperation with the King Abdullah Medical City, in the presence of MP Ms. Ebtissam Hijris and a number of members of GOYS’ Young Women Committees affiliated to youth centers.
The seminar was presented by Dr. Mona Sadig Al-Shehabi at the Al-Jawhara bint Ibrahim’s Center (AJC) in which the lecturer presented a detailed illustrated outline on the importance of early breast cancer examination in order to avoid the fatal disease which each year claims the lives of thousands of women all over the world. The lecturer explained that the Ministry of Health has always been keen on providing free of charge breast cancer examination harnessing advanced equipment and tools which help early diagnosis.
MP Ebitssam Hijris talked during the seminar and urged for the need to undergo regular breast examination procedure as the tool to prevent the onset of the disease, highlighting the need to spread awareness regarding breast cancer because as the proverbial saying goes: Prevention is better than cure.”
The seminar was organized as part of programs and activities provided by GOYS’ Directorate of Youth Centers and Organizations in order to spread awareness regarding the importance of early examination in order to prevent onset of this disease and the necessary solutions for its early detection.
