Human Rights Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman underscored Bahrain’s keenness on compatibility of its laws with international human rights agreements and the principles of democratic work.
Speaking at a meeting with South Korean Minister of Government Legislation Je Jeong-Boo and officials, he pointed out that the legislative power in Bahrain is working cooperatively with the government to modernise the legislative system to better serve human rights issues.
The Human Rights Minister highlighted amendments to the national legislations, particularly those pertaining to the human rights field, so as to promote guarantees and foster procedural transparency.
He added that the legislative authority in Bahrain has reviewed and passed a lot of laws within the framework of carrying out the recommendations of Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry and the National Dialogue.
He also emphasised Bahrain’s keenness to set up institutions in charge of promoting the culture of human rights, underlining the need to exchange experiences in this regard.
On his part, the South Korean Minister praised the Bahraini delegation’s visit, lauding the human rights accomplishments brought about by Bahrain and the kingdom’s steps to preserve and build up on them.
