His Royal Highness, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, urged the world community to adopt a broader and more comprehensive strategy of human rights concept, focusing primarily on socio-economic rights as the essential element to ensure accomplishing the welfare and dignified livelihood aspired by peoples of the world.
His Royal Highness said that upholding the values of human rights and consolidation thereof in all communities require more concerted international cooperation which culminates in an international economic order capable of accomplishing the people’s aspirations for immediate and future revival, serenity and stability.
His Royal Highness stressed that the common universal vision of human rights upheld by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international conventions and treaties constitute magnificent accomplishments in human history and that everybody should strive to implement this vision commensurate with the rules of international law without compromising the principle of national sovereignty.
This came as HRH the Prime Minister addressed a special message to the world marking the anniversary of the International Human Rights Day due to be celebrated on Tuesday under the slogan (20 years of working for your rights) commemorating the establishment of the UN High Commission for Human Rights.
