MANAMA: The Khalid bin Hamad Arabian Horse Racing Cup Festival for people with disabilities, which is set to take place in March received global accolades being one of the unique initiatives for people with special needs.
The event launch was announced during a Press conference addressed by the head of the Organising Committee Omar Abdulaziz Bu Kamal who highlighted the importance of the event.
This year’s festival is scheduled to be held on March 6 and 7 at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club racecourse in Sakir and for the third consecutive year.
To be under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first vice-chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and in cooperation with Med Point Advertising Company, the festival promises to bring a number of prizes for the crowd to be present during the two-day event.
Bahrain Mind Sports Association Hassan Bukhammas and Parliament Shura Council member Abduljalil Al Owainati both praised the idea of the festival and the outstanding initiative of Shaikh Khalid to launch the competition titled ‘Shine’ as part of the festival, a contest which aims to develop the mental skills of the participants.
