ISLAMABAD: The Kingdom of Bahrain serves as gateway for Pakistani businesses to the $1.5trillion GCC economy in addition to the MENA and USA markets.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Hassan Abdulla Fakhro on the sidelines of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to Pakistan highlighted the importance of existing relations between the two sides.
“Bahrain provides an ideal gateway for Pakistan businesses seeking to access the GCC and wider MENA region markets, as well as offering free trade access to the United States. Given this, we are pleased to be returning to the country to build on our friendship and explore opportunities for greater cooperation and partnership,” the Minister added.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is facilitating the visit to Pakistan of Bahraini based businesses with aim at exploring avenues of co-operation by boosting investment between the two countries.
His Majesty the King accompanying him to Pakistan an economic delegation, including Ministers, government officials, chairman of EDB, investors and high profile businesses who arrived to Pakistan to participate in the Bahrain-Pakistan Business Forum which will be held today in Islamabad with aim to develop relation between the two countries.
“The bilateral relations between the Bahrain and Pakistan extends which goes beyond commercial trade as characterized to include cultural and political side over many years,” Dr. Hassan Fakhro, said.
“Pakistan businesses are expanding and increasingly looking to invest internationally in order to continue that growth. With the market opportunities in the GCC, there is excellent potential for both sides to gain by working together.”
