MANAMA: Marking the Labour Day, BBK honoured the 42 long-standing employees who, throughout the years have pushed the development of the bank forward.
The award ceremony was held at the Gulf Hotel on the 28th of April 2014 under the patronage of the Chief Executive of the bank A. Karim Bucheery. Present were Khalil Zainal, the Chairman of Bahrain Bankers’ Union, in the presence of the executive management of BBK.
The 42 BBK loyal employees were awarded for their 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 15 and 10 years of service with cash awards and recognition plaques. Following the honouring ceremony a luncheon was held in their honour.
A.Karim Bucheery thanked the employees for their notable contributions to BBK’s development and their loyalty to the organization.
“Human capital is the main asset of any institution, it is what drives creativity, development and attains it the leadership position and competitive edge.” He stressed on the importance of the two-way loyalty between the organization and its employees, and their partnership in the journey of success,” Bucheery, said.
“For employees to stay over 20, 30 or even 40 years in an organization signifies that the organization is on the right track when it comes to its human capital; at BBK we value our employees and we invest heavily in providing them a fulfilling and rewarding career, from extensive benefits to work-life-balance, to constant career progression” Bucheery, added.
With a history that spans more than 43 years, BBK was able to sustain its leading position and increase profitability. This is attributed to the integrity and the-high-calibre-employees that the Bank has managed to retain.
Hassaan Burshaid, Assistant General Manager, Human Resources and Administration said that BBK appreciates loyalty, hard work, and professionalism and always strives to reward its dedicated employees.
“Retention of talent is becoming somewhat more difficult these days than attracting new talent. BBK prides itself to be an employer of choice in the Kingdom of Bahrain and to have also achieved a 95% Bahrainisation rate. We will continue to invest in our employees through specialized training programmes and to ensure that they are Bahrain’s future leaders in the financial sector,” Burshaid, said.
The Service Award Ceremony, which is held on an annual basis, is part of BBK’s approach to reward its employees’ dedication and appreciate their continuous efforts and loyalty.
