St. Petersburg: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa praised St. Petersburg as one of the most important cultural and historical destinations in the world, noting the ancient sites, museums, and palaces that illustrate Russia’s long history and unique culture.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, expressed these views after he held talks with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko in the City of St. Petersburg.
The meeting focused on enhancing coordination on trade and investment, culture and tourism, infrastructure and architecture between Bahrain and Russia.
His Royal Highness noted the long cultural heritage of both Bahrain and Russia, stating that this heritage presents a range of opportunities for future coordination and cultural exchanges.
The governor welcomed the visit of His Royal Highness to St. Petersburg and expressed his gratitude for His Royal Highness’ personal interest in the city. He also emphasised his interest in furthering coordination between the two countries in trade and investment and culture and tourism.
Following the meeting a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) was signed, in the presence of His Royal Highness, between Manama, the capital of Bahrain, and the city of St. Petersburg.
The MOC aims at further coordination across culture and tourism, trade and investment, and Information Communications Technologies.
The MOU was signed by the Capital Governor, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdurrahman Al-Khalifa, and the Governor of St. Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko.
