HRH the Prime Minister ordered ministries to submit detailed reports containing an assessment of the political, technical and security feasibility of scholarships, training programmes and capacity-building initiatives launched by foreign institutes and centres for Bahrainis from governmental and non-governmental sides, plus other targeted segments, and the necessary regulations to be set in order to ensure they are not used to interfere into the kingdom’s internal affairs.
He directed to devise a mechanism that makes the Foreign Affairs Ministry the only party in Bahrain allowed to receive scholarships offered by foreign entities, the Ministry of Education the only side allowed to approve the list of scholarship recipients and the High Council for Vocational Training well-informed about the various capacity-building and training programmes.
He emphasised that the source of the scholarship or the training programme provided for any Bahraini citizen should be known by the relevant government sides.
