MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: The reckless non-compliance of the Ministry of Health guidelines can fuel the spread of the COVID-19 among various communities.
The data suggests that the deliberate non-compliance of the guidelines by citizens which include social distancing, wearing facial masks, no family or social gatherings, and sanitization etc. pushed the infection ratio higher. This stark warning came from the National Task Force on Combating the COVID-19 on Wednesday during the Press briefing as the citizens have taken over the residents in possibility of spreading infection largely attributable to the deliberate ignorance of the adherence to the health precautionary measures put in place. Among the citizens ratio of spreading virus recorded at 1:83 whereas among the residents is 1:53 as per the data from May 13th to June 9th, 2020.
“The non-compliance leads to the spread of the virus and if each individual adheres to the precautionary measures that will help in mitigation of the virus and will be a step towards overcoming the challenge posed by the COVID-19,” Dr Jameela Al Salman, Consultant of Infectious Diseases at Salmaniya Medical Complex, told the news briefing.
“No one intentionally wants to spread the virus but showing responsibility from individuals will yield positive results in achieving the national goals in fight against the pandemic. The efforts are on to conduct more tests and over 386000 tests have been completed by Wednesday,” Dr Jameela said.
