Manama: The Interior Ministry Bahrain asserted that Qatar’s defaming and misleading campaigns through its inciting platform “Al Jazeera Channel” against the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people are hopeless attempts to harm Bahrain’s national and civilised accomplishments.
On top of them the professional human rights organisations that work through the support of the Kingdom. At the same time, the Interior Ministry is dedicated to ensuring the sovereignty of the law as the practices of its affiliates and the respect of human rights through various guarantees.
The seminar against Bahrain aired by the Qatari Al Jazeera channel organised by a suspicious human rights organisation was part of systematic work and included false information. Moreover, the event hosted individuals that are financed by foreign sources that work against Bahrain. Therefore, the Interior Ministry will clarify the following:
First: The incitement of the channel that Qatar sponsors represents a continuation of the aggressive approach against Bahrain and politicisation of media content against Bahrain and its people.
Second: A report of the Police Media Centre reveals the incitement approach of Al Jazeera in the last ten years, as no single positive report has been aired by the channel, contrary to the media professionalism standards.
Third: Analysis of aired contents of Al Jazeera reveals the targeting of Bahrain through false allegations and information to promote chaos and instability, without consideration to the good neighbouring principles promoted in Al-Ula statement.
Fourth: Inmates of the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre are convicts in criminal and terrorist cases who completed the judiciary stages in just trials with the attendance of their lawyers and NGO representatives. Along with Bahrain’s human rights organisations. Qatar has no such organisations.
Fifth: The seminar’s speakers provided repeated allegations without providing physical evidence. It isn’t strange for the channel to air such information for its approach of interference in the affairs of others through baseless allegations that are far from the enforcement of law and criminal justice.
Sixth: One of the speakers, “fugitive”, claimed that his father, who served life imprisonment, is exposed to torture. The allegation is false as the health condition of the convict is stable, and his case is monitored regularly, and his health record is documented.
Finally, the Interior Ministry maintains that its law enforcement and human rights protection approach. Such campaigns would promote the ministry to further its commitment to protecting national security and the general safety of citizens and residents. In addition, the clarification aims to promote the transparency principles and highlight facts.
