The General Director of Crime Detection and Forensic Science announced on Friday that the Directorate of Criminal Investigation has arrested four Asians with fraud charges against citizens and residents by pretending that they are employees of one Communication Company in Bahrain.
He said that the directorate received many complaints from citizens and residents reporting being victims of fraud cases when they were convinced by the suspects that they had won cash prizes, then they asked them to provide personal information, in addition to the number of voucher card for the prepaid service of their mobile phones.
He continued that investigation launched by the directorate led to the four suspects and were arrested after warrant was issued by the Public Prosecution and equipments used to cheat victims were seized.
The General Director highlighted that the suspects managed to get BD2435, while they were referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal actions, while he called upon citizens and residents to call the hotline of the Criminal Investigation Directorate “17713271” in case they will receive suspicious calls or if they want to report other security-related cases.
