President of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa continued his efforts in reinforcing media cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Egypt through visiting various official and private media establishments on the sidelines of his visit to Cairo.
Shaikh Fawaz visited Al Ahram newspaper and met with its Editor-in-Chief Masood Al Hanawi along with several officials. During the meeting the IAA President hailed the role of the Egyptian press and its keeping-up with the events witness by the world and the region. He also indicated that the Egyptian media had a long historic presence and was able with all competence to reach all readers on all levels depending on its credibility and transparency. Shaikh Fawaz emphasized that the Egyptian press was able to project the truth to the public opinion.
The IAA President appreciated the Egyptian media for its firm stance with the Kingdom of Bahrain during the recent sad events. Shaikh Fawaz also met with several media personnel and researchers at the Al Ahram Centre for Studies and Research and reviewed with them the truth of the conspiracy that was plotted against the Kingdom of Bahrain targeting its stability and security. Several topics related to the reality of the crisis were highlighted in addition to the incorrect information that was transmitted. Shaikh Fawaz stressed that despite the crisis that Bahrain went through it came out stronger thanks to the wisdom of its leadership and loyal people.
Meanwhile, Shaikh Fawaz also conducted a visit to Al Jumhuriya newspaper accompanied by the media delegation during which he met with its Editor-in-Chief Mahmood Naefa and several journalists and officials. The IAA president also toured the various departments and sections of the newspapers hailing its high standards. He also expressed at the conclusion of his visit his hope for further cooperation with Egyptian newspapers in the field of presenting news and accurate information along with cooperation with newspaper correspondents.
