Bahrain witnessed perhaps the darkest lunar eclipse of the century on Wednesday night with a rare view of full moon covered by the shade of earth.
This was believed to be the century’s longest and darkest total lunar eclipse as the moon wrapped up deeply in the shadow of the earth.
The total phase lasted 90 minutes starting at 20.45pm local Bahrain time. The last eclipse to exceed this duration was in July 2000. According to experts the next such eclipse will take be in 2141. Photograph by Noor Mohammed
