Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussein bin Ali Mirza, said that the world’s premier oil and gas show MEOS 2011 would be held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa from September 25 to 28 at the Bahrain at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC).
Dr Mirza, who received at the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA)’s headquarters the Chairman and members of the organizing committee of the Middle East Oil and Gas Show and Conference (MEOS 2011), also got briefing from the organizers of the show.
During the meeting, Dr. Mirza reviewed with members of MEOS 2011’s organizing committee organizational issues, lauding the efforts they exert for the sake of ensuring the success of such a key economic and oil function bringing together major world oil companies which will showcase their products and expertise in oil exploration and drilling.
Dr. Mirza also pledged that NOGA will spare no effort in order to ensure the success of MEOS 2011, adding that the National Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding)’s affiliate oil companies will play a vital role in this regard for the sake of consolidating the kingdom’s leading position as a regional conferences and exhibitions hub. On their part, MEOS organisers expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Energy Minister for his incessant support and close follow up of oil functions organized in the kingdom, hailing the issues raised during the meeting. Inaugurated in 1979, MEOS is the most established exhibition of oil and gas products and services in the Middle East, attracting NOCs, IOCs and major operating companies.
The conference, organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), in cooperation with NOGA, is the largest and best attended technical event of its kind in the region. At MEOS 2011 they combine to offer exceptional networking, business and educational opportunities to all professionals with an interest in the future of the Middle East’s hydrocarbon industry. The event aims to develop the oil sector, upgrade the human resources in the kingdom, in line with the directives of the wise leadership, consolidate the kingdom’s leading position in the field of organisation of specialized oil functions, boost the economy and promote tourism.
