Al Baraka Banking Group is set to launch the first version of jurisprudence encyclopedia in co-operation with the Saudi Information Technology Company.
Launching will coincides with Al Baraka Banking Group’s thirty-second session of two-day Al Baraka Symposium on Islamic economy kicks off in Hilton Jeddah on Wednesday.
Encyclopedia will be issued every year to include all new research studies and opinions on Islamic economic system issued by the Group. In addition to the Encyclopedia, a new set of studies on different areas of Islamic economics issued by the ABG will also be distributed at the Symposium.
Adnan Ahmed Yousif, President and Chief Executive of Al Baraka Banking Group said that the Symposium in its current session would focus on the different topics, including the issuance of Sukuk with the compliance with Sharia purposes, Zakat of public money, taking into account ownership and development conditions. The Symposium will also cover recent topics related to insurance and real estate finance as well as important economic issues.
“The Symposium in this regular and periodic way provide good opportunity to scholars, intellectuals, bankers and senior officials and executives in the Islamic financial industry to discuss and exchange views on issues of banking and finance emerging in the Islamic banking industry,” Adnan said.
The owners of virtue, leading scholars and experts in Islamic economy in addition to scholars, researchers, and the chief executives and general managers of banks and Islamic financial institutions and those interested in its issues from different around the world will participate in the two day event.
Adnan also touched upon the 32 history of this forum as the first Al-Baraka symposium on Islamic economy was held in Al-Medinah Al-Munawarah near the prophet’s mosque in the period 17-20 Ramadan 1403H, Corresponding to 27-30 June 1981, under the auspices of Sheikh Saleh A. Kamel, Chairman of ABG, with participation of a wide spectrum of Fiqh scholars, bankers and executives. Since then the symposium was held in Tunisia, Algeria, Turkey, Makkah Al-Mukaramah, and this year 32nd session in Jeddah.
