His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa President of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports also Chairman of the board of trustees of the Royal Charity Foundation underlined the importance of the initiative of the Ministry of Human Rights and Social Development and a prize in the name of His Highness for creativity in the disabled persons.
Shaikh Nasser said that the Ministry was working on implementing distinctive and excellent national projects with the objective of assimilating all Bahraini community denominations and stimulating their creative faculties and that is really favorable and emanates from the government’s commitment to encouraging creativity and creative persons in all walks of life.
Shaikh Nasser praised the role played by Minister of Human Rights and Social Development cum Minister of Health Dr. Fatima bin Mohammed Al-Balooshi in compliance with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Monarch of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Shaikh Nasser hailed the prize as an opportunity for creative disabled persons and the organizations operating in the field of welfare and rehabilitation of disabled persons and informing the Bahraini community and public opinion about their creative faculties and showing their promising visions of a solid community in a country where all denominations of people contribute into its construction and consolidating its foundations with divine grace and the wisdom of our compassionate political leadership.
Shaikh Nasser said that the prize constitutes a lodestar in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s legacy as it symbolizes the government’s attention to disabled persons who contribute into the progressive march of construction in the Kingdom of Bahrain utilizing their hands and creativity.
“Disabled persons have always contributed in hoisting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s flag as they won in numerous regional and international sports competitions and today in reciprocation by various responsible government officials in recognition of such patriotic feats, the prize has been launched in recognition of creativity,” he said.
Shaikh Nasser said that the launching of the prize especially during this year denotes so many meanings to the Kingdom of Bahrain in general and to the disabled persons in particular as this national prize will definitely show to the local and international community the extent of creative energies possessed by disabled persons in the Kingdom of Bahrain that launched them into the vast horizons and reflect the Bahraini community’s excellence and distinctiveness and helps disabled persons release their energies.
“The government sponsors creative disabled persons in all walks of life and enacted appropriate legislations to create and regulate welfare facilities for the disabled.”
Shaikh Nasser emphasized that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s future awaits the performance of so many feats by creative disabled persons. The prize is worth BD 12,000 plus certificates of recognition. Applications forms may be obtained from the Disabled Services Center, in Tubli. Applications may be submitted no later than 15 October 2011. Participation works should be received not later than 30 October 2011.
