Minister of Energy Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza on Wednesday said that measures were being taken to ensure the uninterrupted water and power supply across the country.
Dr Mirza said that in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister to provide optimum services to citizens in the field of electricity and water and in order to curb electric power disruptions in any part of the country, Electricity and Water Authority has often been keen to comply with these directives, improve performance and attain topmost quality standards pertaining to electricity service hence inaugurating the Emergency Services Center in the geographically important the governorate of Muharraq.
The Minister said that the emergency service center features special mechanism and fast service together with a Comprehensive Telecommunications Center so that whenever the center receives any customer complaint pertaining to electric power service in the governorate, such emergency calls will be redirected to the relevant working team in the Emergency Service Center’s distribution and follow-up section who are assigned to carry out periodic maintenance, read loads, determine the locations of any technical faults and expedite their repairs plus any services as may be required in future.
“The center has been established mainly to serve citizens and resident expatriates in the governorate. The Authority is currently studying similar development projects in case they may be needed in other governorates whilst taking into consideration the importance of providing top quality services to all subscribers.”
The Minister of Energy said that Electricity and Water Authority was committed to its strategic plans in order to reduce electric power disruptions anywhere in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the local press and the citizens all over the Kingdom for their cooperation in terms of saving power especially during maximum-consumption hours thus reducing instances of power cuts this year.
