His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa gave the green light for a package of development projects in the villages of Jaw, Askar and Al Dour, as well the southern area, which will bring about a qualitative leap in the quality of services enjoyed by those regions.
HRH Premier gave directives to start the second phase of the 800-unit Jaw-Askar housing project, build two comprehensive schools in each village and construct a 300-bed general hospital that serves the citizens of Jaw, Askar and Al Dour, as well the southern region and a health centre in Askar, instructing the concerned sides to develop the health centre in Jaw.
Speaking as he paid a visit to the villages of Jaw, Askar and Al Dour, and the Southern region, HRH Premier issued instructions to consecrate the area between Jaw and Askar for housing projects in order to be the nucleus of the Southern City.
He also gave directives to build a petrol station that will benefit local residents, and was also assured on the electricity, water and infrastructure services provided for them, calling upon them not to leave their villages in order to preserve their cultural identity.
During the visit, HRH Premier reviewed with the service Ministers, in the presence of local inhabitants, the quality of the government services and mechanisms of translating his instructions into the ground.
HRH Premier told local citizens that the government was keen to provide them with door-to-door services, adding that schools should be built in order to spare students the effort of being transported to remote schools.
“I have always believed that services should be prioritised and any attempts to disrupt the execution of those projects is doomed to failure as our dedication in the service of our dear citizens is boundless,” he said, asserting that he will follow up closely the implementation of those landmark projects with the concerned ministers.
HRH Premier also said that upgrading infrastructure and services across the kingdom tops the government’s agenda, adding that all the regions have to reap the dividends of the kingdom’s development march, in line with the government’s commitment to ensuring all the citizens welfare and decent living standards.
He also paid tribute to the inhabitants and tribes of those villages, praising their patriotism and landmark contributions to national action march.
MP Khamis bin Hamad Al Rumaihi delivered a statement on behalf of local inhabitants in which he expressed their pride at HRH Premier’s historic visit, reiterating their deep-rooted allegiance and loyalty to the wise leadership.
He also pointed out that the ring of landmark projects launched in those villages testifies to HRH Premier’s constant keenness to promote development nationwide.
