Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan chaired a meeting of the coordination and follow up committee, in the presence of a number of the ministry’s senior officials, reviewed ways of improving work mechanisms at different projects and the ministry’s employment and training policies were discussed. The ministry’s development projects were also studied.
The panel reviewed the progress of the project aiming to increase the salaries of Bahraini university graduates at the private sector, the needed training, ways of dealing with private companies, as well as the needed administrative and financial procedures.
The results and statistics of the project and its implementation mechanisms were also spotlighted. The committee also studied setting up an additional project for university graduates registered in the ministry’s unemployment lists in order to cover them according to objective criteria.
Those present also reviewed the work of the committee in charge of following up the employment of 1912 university graduates by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and asserted that the ministry is trying to provide suitable job opportunities for the remaining 938 ones at private sector companies. They also discussed reports concerning those dismissed during the recent events, stressing the ministry’s keenness to solve the issue according to laws and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa in this regard.
