The Government of Bahrain on Friday denied engaging in any new dialogue with certain parties or a group.
“No exclusive or selective dialogue can be held behind closed doors”, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa said.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he said that any viable dialogue should be public and transparent, engaging all parties and promoting openness on the others. He urged parties desiring to express their opinions or ideas regarding the democratic march to do so openly and seek communal consensus.
He reaffirmed the Government’s resolve to implement all the visions endorsed in the National Consensus Dialogue.
“The recommendations, which total 291, range from executive procedures to legal and constitutional amendments”, he said.
He stressed the importance of the visions, being the product of the multi-party National Dialogue, which engaged different components of Bahrain’s people along with political associations and civil institutions.
He described the National Dialogue recommendations as a roadmap for national action as Bahrain goes through a defining moment.
“The Government is resolved to translate the National Dialogue visions into tangible reality and viable laws.
