The Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre announced the countdown of the region’s high-class show Jewellery Arabia 2011.
The event will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of Bahrain and being organised by the Arabian Exhibition Management to held at the Exhibition Centre from 22 to 26 November 2011.
As in the past, this international exhibition will showcase world famous brands, high quality and luxurious designs of jewelleries and precious stones to be exhibited by around 550 exhibitors from 30 countries and expected to attract over 45,000 visitors.
The exhibition industry is indeed back on its feet and bustling with important events. The recently concluded Middle East Oil and Gas Show 2011 also witnessed the largest edition of the event in the 32 year history in the Gulf Cooperation Council and the 17th year in Bahrain. Held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in September 2011, this year’s event marked an increase in attendance, space and number of exhibiting companies.
It is worth mentioning that Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority was named winner of the Best Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) Destination in the Middle East for 2011 by the Business Destination Travel Awards 2011 organized annually by Business Destinations of United Kingdom. The award was based on the great contribution of Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority to the development of Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) and reflects the prominent position of Kingdom of Bahrain as the ideal venue of events, exhibitions and conventions where Bahrain’s well-developed and expanding infrastructure including information technology and communication, friendly trade and business environment, world-class lifestyle facilities, multi-cultured community and a steady economy contributed largely in making Bahrain a key and strategic location for businesses and investments in the region.
Tremendous growth both in financial and operational results has been achieved over the years since the inception of Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority in 2006. The total number of events held in the Centre rose from 43 in 2006 to 139 in 2009, an increase of 223%. During the period 2008-2010, the Centre has attracted more than 1.2 million visitors from Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and international visitors.
To further promote the exhibition industry of Bahrain, fulfill the requirement of long term growth in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry and as part of the National Economic Strategy 2030, a new Expo City is planned to be constructed in the vicinity of the Bahrain International Circuit at Sakhir Area. This unique landmark project will consist of state-of-the-art facilities for exhibition and convention.
Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority is looking forward to an active 2012 as the events calendar for the year shows continued growth in the number of specialised international business-to-business exhibitions. Major international events booked for the first half of 2012 include Arabian Mechanical, Engineering & Plumbing (MEP), Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS), International Autumn Fair, Gulf Industry, Food and Hospitality Exhibition, 10th Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition, Bahrain 1st Green Tech Expo, 15th International Book Fair, Bahrain Information Technology Exhibition (BITEX), The 2nd Expo Science Asia, Health and Wellness Expo, Gulf Bid & Gulf Interiors and 8th Middle East Refining and Petrochemicals Conference & Exhibition (ME Petrotech).
