Dr. Abdul Hussain Bin Ali Mirza visited oil well number 1000 site at the Bahrain field near Jebel-El-Dukhan along with the members of the executive management of Tatweer Petroleum and other invited guests from NOGA and Bapco .
Bahrain’s first oil well was drilled back in 1931 and since the handover of the Bahrain Field Operations on 1st December 2009 Tatweer Petroleum has drilled more than 200 oil and gas wells. The visit was made to congratulate the management and employees of Tatweer for drilling oil well #1000 after it has now been successfully drilled and put on production.
“The dynamic pace of redevelopment in the Bahrain field is on fast track to drill 3600 new wells over the next 20 years as Tatweer Petroleum Company continues to expand the oil and gas production capacity for the kingdom of Bahrain with ongoing technology innovation to enhance the oil recovery processes,” Energy Ministry in a statement, said.
“The prolific Bahrain Oil Field is witnessing a resurgence of activity and investment, as production levels are being increased to achieve the planned target which will indeed contribute to the Kingdoms prosperity and employment opportunities to Bahrain,” it added.
Dr Mirza expressed his thanks and appreciation to the wise political leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain for their support to the oil industry and to Tatweer Petroleum in particular to enable it to continue to achieve its redevelopment of the Bahrain Field for the benefit of the people of Bahrain.
