Housing Minister, Basem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar said the ministry had adopted a new method in distributing housing units through communicating with the beneficiary to inform them about progress in implementing housing projects.
He pointed out that some housing projects are in their final phase, while others are 60% completed up to date.
Regarding land plots, the minister outlined the Housing Ministry’s plan for 2012 pointing out that 91 land plots will be allotted in Al Dair and Samaheej, 500in eastern Hidd, and between 600 and 800 in east Sitra.
“We are currently working on an initial scheme for Dar Kulaib housing project,” he said adding that 400 land plots will be allocated in the northern city in the first quarter of 2012.
The minister expected the housing projects in 2012 to cover all governorates with 8 to 10 thousand housing units to be built at an estimated cost of BD 300 million.
