The Government of Bahrain reiterated its firm commitment to implement the recommendation cited in the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) Report.
In a statement it pledged full and permanent cooperation with the National Commission charged with the BICI report.
It has pointed out a tangible progress in the implementation of the recommendations ever since the BICI Report was released, adding that measures had since been taken regarding each recommendation.
In a bid to ensure utmost international practices, the Government has sought assistance from prominent specialists and pioneering expertise powerhouse from all over the world. In this regard, key agreements have signed respectively with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
More agreements will also be sealed soon with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and other international organisations and prominent experts.
Several delegations represent the UN Agencies have also paid a series of visits to the Kingdom of Bahrain over the past months. The Government has also outlined it achievement so far regarding its commitment to implement the recommendations featuring in the BICI Report.
In this respect, it has launched a bilingual website (http://www.govactions.bh) which features executive procedures in both Arabic and English for the internal and external public opinions to be updated and informed – in total transparency – on Bahrain’s full commitment to implement the recommendations cited in the BICI Report. More languages will be available soon on the above-mentioned official website.
The Government has also vowed to keep the National Commission updated on the executive steps undertaken to via its official website.
It paid tribute to the panel, hailing the crucial role of its members to implement the recommendations.
