The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa received held talks with the member of the UK British House of Lords Lord Luce to whom he conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser briefed Lord Luce on HM the King’s pioneering Reform Project and directives to implement the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI).
He also informed him of the projects and programs undertaken by the RCO and the services provided to orphans and widows sponsored by His Majesty the King, as well as its constant keenness to provide relief aid to stricken people in friendly countries.
Lord Luce praised HM the King’s Project and serious steps taken to implement BICI recommendations, which are considered vital steps in the kingdom’s modern history.
Lord Luce also praised the deep historical Bahraini-UK relations, lauding RCO’s humanitarian programmes, and relief aid provided to Somalia, including digging wells, building the Bahrain Teacher’s Institute and the Bahrain Hospital.
RCO’s Secretary General Dr Mustafa Al-Sayyed and the Bahraini Ambassador to the UK Alice Samaan also attended the meeting.
