The Kingdom of Bahrain’s economy is on the right path of progress and development, thanks to the proactive policies put in place by the Government, a senior Minister said.
“Bahrain’s rapidly emerging position as a leading hub of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) is just one example of this country’s potential to host regional, international and global events,” the Minister of Energy Dr Mirza said.
His Excellency Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Energy in a meeting told the 24X7 News that the year 2012 would also see many global events taking place in the Kingdom.
Dr Mirza, who is also Chairman of the board of the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA), also highlighted the importance of Bahrain’s economic robustness proved during the financial crisis.
“Bahrain’s move to diversify the economy away from the hydrocarbons by bolstering the fundamentals like service sector and achieving excellence in human resources development will continue to pay a pivotal role in reshaping the national economy into a model power house for both development and sustainability both in 2012 and beyond,” Dr Mirza explained.
During the meeting the Minister also discussed several topics related to oil and gas sector, energy and global markets for oil.
His Excellency the Minister also touched upon the details on the ongoing programmes and projects and new initiatives being implemented by the NOGA to enhance the energy sector’s share in the GDP.
HE the Minister, who also holds portfolio of Ministry of Electricity and Water, touched upon the programmes and initiatives being implemented by the Electricity and Water Authority, which are in progress and the evolution of these bodies.
Highlighting the importance of the conferences and exhibitions especially in the fields of oil and gas sectors he said that NOGA would continue to play a role of catalyst in organising important events in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“The 2012, like previous years, will see number of conferences and exhibitions specialized in oil and gas sectors where there will be a post global actor in these events to be hosted by Kingdom of Bahrain.
