The Ministry for Human Rights and Social Development launched the Second National Report on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Bahrain’s Human Rights, which will be presented before the Human Rights Council on the 5th of March 2012.
The report was prepared in compliance with the standards of preparing National Reports to the Universal Periodic Review, which was approved by Human Rights Council under Resolution No. 1/5 issued in June 2007.
Most prominent in the report is the review of Bahrain’s implementation of all the recommendations and voluntary commitments of the first periodic review in April 2008.
The report also underlines the most important achievements over the last four years in the field of protection and promotion of human rights.
