Shura Council Financial and Economic chairperson Dr. Aisha Salim Mubarak met Ambassador Terry Millar, director of the Centre for International Trade and Economics and the Mark A. Kolokotrones Fellow in Economic Freedom at the Heritage Foundation.
She highlighted Bahrain’s drive to develop economic legislations, attract foreign investments and promote growth. She also reaffirmed Bahrain’s resolve to bolster Bahrain’s economic competitiveness, consolidate its standing as an outstanding regional financial and trade centre, create jobs for citizens, improve the investment environment, achieve higher rates of sustained development and bolster the role of the private sector in the development march. Meanwhile, Terry Millar reaffirmed Bahrain’s standing at the top of all Arab countries on the index of economic freedom despite last year’s unsettling events. He lauded Bahrain’s drive to attract investments, spur growth and improve citizens’ standards of living, citing particularly the efforts of the Bahrain Economic Board.
