Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa met BNP Paribas Chairman Baudouin Prot and discussed key financial, banking and business issues. The minister hailed the outstanding status of PNB Paribas – being one of the pioneering banks in the world.
He underscored the pivotal role of the bank, established in Bahrain over 35 years ago. Bahrain hosts the regional BNP Paribas Headquarters for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region).
Shaikh Ahmed reaffirmed the Government’s support for leading world banks and companies and resolves to ensure all favourable factors to promote the services provided in Bahrain- being a pioneering hub for financial, banking and business services in the region.
Finance Ministry Undersecretary Aref Saleh Khamis, Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company Chief Executive Officer Mahmoud Hashim Al-Kooheji, BNP Paribas regional chief for the Middle East and North Africa Jean Christophe Durand and other senior officials attended.
