Four people accused of involvement in Al-Ekar terror blast have been arrested. Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa said that they would face legal charges, vowing zero-tolerance against saboteurs and terrorists.
He was speaking as he met Parliament Chairman Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani.
Minister of State for Shura Council and Parliament Affairs Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Fadhel, Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Committee chairman and Mps attended.
The minister gave an update on recent security incidents, including Al-Ekar terror blast which left seven policemen injured, three of them critically wounded whilst on duty.
“The escalated incidents are part of a campaign of violence and sabotage targeting citizens, public and private properties”, he said, pointing out that all injured policemen are in stable condition.
He held the perpetrators and those who instigated them responsible for the heinous act, pointing out that the locally-made explosive device represented a dangerous development.
He urged all parties to stand united in confronting such crimes.
Member of Parliament voiced their support for the measures undertaken by the Interior Ministry to protect security and stability. Their also expressed their backing for policemen in assuming their noble and patriotic duties.
