In line with Bahrain IT Expo 2012, the Bahraini team, consisting of seven male and female students from Creativity Private School, displayed Smart Robot project which they have created based on an ultra sound censor technique.
The project attracted expo visitors who praised such an innovative idea, especially that the Smart Robot was created with a special technique that allows users to move it on commanded movements. The visitors enjoyed a live show of the Smart Robot while it operates with specific motions.
The seven students, aged between 12-13 (grade 7 and 8), included Rashid AlMahmood, Ahmed AlJowder, Faisal AlHassan, Mohammed AlAmmadi, Hamad AlMahmood, Rawan AlAlawi and Hessa AlAbbasi.
Creativity Private School was keen to take part in the expo aiming to spread knowledge, as well as inspire and encourage students to take advantage of science and technology. The school also praised the expo for allowing them the opportunity to witness the latest technology and global trends from other participating companies in the expo.
The Bahraini team will represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Vex competition which will be taking place in California during the month of April, under the patronage of the president of United States of America and will include the participation of huge associations such as NASA.
The Bahraini students also achieved the first position Arab wise and 20th worldwide in the 8th International Robot Olympics in Abu Dhabi – last December; which witnessed the participation of 64 teams from 34 countries.
Over 50 exhibitors took part in this year’s expo, in addition to ICT experts, enthusiasts, as well as senior government and private sector officials.
