His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa deputized Supreme Council for Youth and sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to open the 20 Heritage Festival.
The expo is being organized by the Ministry of Culture at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohamed Al-Khalifa, senior officials and guests attended opening ceremony.
Shaikh Nasser expressed his honour at inaugurating the festival on behalf of HM King Hamad. He stressed the importance of the Heritage Festival, hailing HM the King as a major supporter of programs and projects aimed at preserving Bahraini heritage – being a national wealth inherited over generations.
Shaikh Nasser highlighted hailed Bahrain’s deep-rooted heritage which boast rich customs and traditions that reflect developments over historical eras. He urged one-team spirit to preserve culture for coming generations by holding heritage and cultural events.
Shaikh Nasser voiced confidence in the ability of Bahrain Youth to preserve and educate the present generation with the inherited culture that the old generation left us with. Shaikh Nasser also lauded the efforts Ministry of culture, led by Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa
Shaikha Mai expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King for patronizing the event and supporting national heritage and culture.
She added that the Royal patronage reflects HM King Hamad’s Keenness on heritage and culture.
She also expressed her thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad for opening the 20th edition of the Heritage Festival, paying tribute to all those who contributed to the success of the event.
