He reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to providing assistance in the training and rehabilitation of human resources with the number of Yemeni trainees benefiting from such programmes topping 86 during the past four years.
The move is in line with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by both countries in March 2010.
The State Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the Yemeni government and people on the victims of the horrendous terror attack which happened in Sana’a on May 21.
This came at “the Friends of Yemen” meeting which convened in Saudi Arabia today under the chairmanship of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal and with the participation of Yemeni Prime Minister Mohammed Salim Basendwa and British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs Alistair Burt.
The meeting discussed the political transitional plan submitted by the national unity government as well as the steps taken to carry out the GCC initiative so as to ensure a peaceful transition of power in Yemen.
Discussions also focused on vital issues pertaining mainly to the economic, military, security and judicial fields.
The friends of Yemen pledged to provide every needed assistance and expertise to Yemen to help it confront terrorism, boost security, prevent foreign intervention and achieve reforms.
Saudi Arabia will hold the Donors Conference from June 27 to 30, 2012, it was announced.
