His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received at Al-Safriya Palace the State Minister for Human Rights Dr. Salah bin Ali bin Mohammed, also head of the Bahraini delegation in charge of presenting Bahrain national periodic report before the Human Rights Council in Geneva .
Dr. Salah Ali briefed HM the King on the most important issues that were discussed before the Human Rights Council and the steps taken by the kingdom of Bahrain to consolidate the concept of respecting Human rights and the democratic approach as per the international law and norms.
HM the King lauded the efforts of the delegation members, affirming that the policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to consolidate the concept of respecting human rights and achieving equality and justice as per the international standards.
HM asserted on the importance of continuing work and build on what has been achieved in the area of Human Rights. HM affirmed that Bahrain will continue the reform and development march in the various fields including providing citizens with decent living.
HM highlighted that Bahrain’s strength lies in customs and habits of the people of Bahrain, adding that people in Bahrain live as one loving family and the freedom of religion is a right for everyone, adding that Bahrain’s mission is aimed at respecting human rights and humanity.
HM highlighted that people from different countries prefer to live in Bahrain due to the hospitality of its people and support in terms of decent living Bahrain provides them with, concluding that Bahrain is considered one of the world civilized countries.
Dr. Salah Ali and on behalf of the delegation expressed pride in meeting HM the king and listening to his directives.
He added that during the Human rights meeting in Geneva, the participating countries lauded the call by HM the King to establish an Arab Court for Human Rights, thus reflecting HM’s keen care and concern for Human rights.
