Following an invitation from the Ministry of Culture, His Royal Highness Prince Al-Walid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud visited Bahrain National Museum.
He was welcomed by Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, who thanked him for accepting the invitation, hailing his keen interest in various cultural and media aspects in Bahrain.
She also updated him on the Tylos Exhibition, being held in the month of museums as part of Manama Capital of Arab Culture 2012.
The (Journey beyond Life) expo is scheduled to be showcased at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Shaikha Mai had signed an agreement in this regard with Hermitage Museum Director-General Professor Michael Petrovsky.
The minister also briefed HRH Prince Al-Walid on construction projects, revamping schemes as well as efforts to revive heritage and preserve archeological monuments through the invest-in-culture initiative.
HRH Prince Al-Walid praised the Ministry’s efforts led by Shaikha Mai to protect archaeological sites, revive heritage and protect national identity.
