Bahrain will take part in the “Tokyo Conference on Afghanistan” at the invitation of the Japanese and Afghan governments.
A total 82 countries and international organizations are taking part in the conference which opens on July 7 and runs until Sunday.
Bahrain’s participation emanates from its firm belief in the importance of regional cooperation to defuse tensions and threats and build relations of friendship on the basis of joint vital interests and non-interference on other countries’ internal affairs.
Bahrain pins hopes on the Tokyo Conference to step up support for Afghanistan and meet its people’s aspirations to sustained development as well as economic and social progress – being the country’s top challenges.
