Following directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, State Minister for Electricity and Water Affairs Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza paid a visit to the Isa Town traditional market where he was informed on the damages caused by the blaze that hit it last week and its future needs for electricity and water.
Dr. Mirza was briefed in detail by the CEO of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa on the measures taken during the blaze to protect the market’s main station, as well as EWA’s plan to equip the shops to built in the future with electricity and water, taken into consideration the security and safety requirements.
Dr. Mirza also asserted that all EWA’s officials are keen to implement HRH Premier’s directives to provide electricity and water for shops affected in the blaze so as to enable them to earn their livelihoods, instructing the concerned sides to provide water and electricity services for temporary shops as soon as possible, taken the security and safety standards into account.
He also extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for his constant keenness to support traditional markets, which, he said, is reflected by the government’s development projects aiming to spur national economy.
He also affirmed that EWA has spared no effort to ensure that quality services are provided for all citizens across the nation.
Dr. Mirza was accompanied by the Central Governor Mubarak bin Ahmed Al Fadhel, Director-General of the central Municipal Council Dr. Mohammed Ali Hassan and a number of EWA’s officials.
