Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa issued directives to officials at the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) to place a specific timeframe to implement initiatives aimed at conserving power consumption along with the sage of alternatives made available.
Shaikh Khalid also stressed that such initiatives should begin in government ministries’ buildings by the usage of energy saving lights and conserving heat insulations.
The Deputy Premier was speaking during the chairing of the follow-up meeting related to electricity and water projects as part of the ministerial committee for services and infrastructure attended by the Minister of Municipalities and Urban Planning Dr Juma Al Ka’abi, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs Dr Abdulhussain Mirza and the EWA CEO Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
The Deputy Premier also gave directives to form a team to prepare a comprehensive programme to evaluate buildings and power usage in the Kingdom of Bahrain that includes all related bodies through studying the experiences of other GCC with this regard.
The meeting also included reviewing the various electricity power and water station projects in various areas.
Within this context Shaikh Khalid gave directives to coordinate with related bodies to finalize all studies of projects to construct the station as soon as possible.
