Undersecretary of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Farid Ben-Yacoob Al Moftah asserted the importance of religious events and their role in strengthening community relations, referring to the content of these historic events, which have historic depth that is rooted in Islamic societies. Those events represented an integral dimension in the life of Muslim peoples in particular.
Undersecretary of Islamic Affairs also reinforced the need to invest such occasions in an atmosphere of faith that strengthens the Islamic brotherhood, and supports the highest values of the unity of the community, calling on the revival and the good use of those occasions as an invitation to reunion lines and unite the speech in the face of challenges and dangers.
Undersecretary of Islamic Affairs stressed the necessity to hold such rituals away from political disputes and ideological differences. He also reinforced calling on clergymen including scholars, orators and preachers to take the lead in investing those occasions to calm conditions, and promote the national march in the light of brotherhood and harmony among the people of one nation.
Dr. Moftah warned of politicization of religious events or diverting them away from their right course, to serve political objectives or group interests. He also asserted that deviation in the path of religious occasions to mingle them with the political dispute is considered an insult for those occasions, and an abuse to their high goals and their pure faithful message.
Dr. Moftah also stressed that those religious occasions are connected with events rather than to be connected with persons, calling on the respect of all figures and symbols in every doctrine, which is considered a sign of loyalty that is characteristic of the Islamic Nations.
Dr. Moftah warned of using those occasions in advertising and promotion for politicians or clergymen, by boosting their pictures, considering them great symbols in a state that already has sovereignty with its symbols and leaders. He pointed out that this is considered a violation of national loyalty.
Undersecretary of Islamic Affairs praised the wise people of Bahrain from all spectra, who are aware of the rights of their homeland, and the respect and appreciation of its leadership, and at the same time they respect the other opinion as long as it emanates from those who are faithful to their religion and country, without having a foreign or a sectarian agenda.
He also called on all loyal people to work together to achieve the unity of society, preserve civil peace, security of community, and maintain mutual respect in the light of a national unity that contributes in the progress and development, welfare and stability.
