Batelco, as part of its commitment to youth and educational initiatives, has announced its Platinum sponsorship for the 5th IT Symposium organised by the University of Bahrain (UoB) IT department. The two day event will take place at the University of Bahrain on November 12th and 13th.
The symposium theme this year is My apps, My life which will be focused on mobile application development and how mobile apps have become a big part of our daily lives, since the majority of mobile users own smartphones.
Batelco Manager Public Relations Osama Alsaad presented the sponsorship cheque to UoB Dean of Student Affairs Adnan Al Tamimi during a meeting at Batelco’s Hamala Headquarters.
Batelco Group General Manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that Batelco was a very keen supporter of educational initiatives and events that promoted the development of new telecoms technologies for the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Al Tamimi said that UoB wholeheartedly thanks Batelco for their constant support in Educational events.
“It is our honour to have them support our student-centred event, the fifth IT symposium. As a result of the IT Symposium, the UoB students attending will be better informed about the latest initiatives in the field of IT including the mobile application sector,” he said.
