Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to implement its national and international commitments in the human rights field.
Shaikh Khalid, who was meeting with the UK Senior Minister of State at the Foreign Office, Minister for Faith and Communities as well as the minister responsible for human rights, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, said that the Kingdom was determined to move forward in this field.
The meeting covered the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) recommendations that had been implemented so far after the relevant report was issued nearly a year ago on the situation in the Kingdom during that period.
Baroness Warsi expressed her great interest in the progress achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain in this regard, affirming the importance of continued work to promote the efforts of the Bahraini government to achieve further reforms and development.
Both sides discussed means of bolstering constructive cooperation in the field of building, promoting and safeguarding the human rights culture.
This is in addition to developing channels of cooperation and communication between the two sides which serve the interest of the outstanding historical bilateral relations.
