Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh affirmed that the 33rd session of the GCC Leaders Supreme Council, which will convene in Manama tomorrow, will contribute to further boosting the GCC joint march.
This march, he added, “is progressing with constant steps and a strong resolve to attain higher levels of integration and coordination among the GCC member states.”
He hailed Bahrain’s hosting of the major event which comes within the framework of continuous communication among the GCC leaders.
He pointed out that the summit will spotlight key issues in various political, economic, social, cultural, defence and security fields.
He also lauded preparations made by Bahrain to host the summit, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to ensure its success.
“We are waiting keenly for the outcome of the GCC Summit which will convene amid successive regional and international developments that demand countries in the region to intensify efforts to confront the requirements and major challenges of the next phase,” he said, pointing out the initiative of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud to move from the cooperation phase to union.
He also underlined the Shura Council’s support to all initiatives and steps aimed at promoting progress and development in the GCC countries.
