The members of the diplomatic corps in Bahrain lauded the idea and quality of hosting Thank You Bahrain festival on Friday at Bahrain National Stadium which was attended by thousands of people from different communities. The envoys, who led their national stalls, said the gathering reflect the true spirit of Bahraini culture and rich tradition as being a melting pot of different cultures over the centuries.
“This gathering is true translation of cordial ties binding Bahrain and the expatriate communities,” they said.
“The festival is a reflection of the foreign communities’ solidarity with Bahrain and an act of gratitude for the warm hospitality and kindness of the Bahraini people,” British Ambassador to Bahrain Iain Lindsay, said.
“We have had very cordial and brotherly ties with Bahrain and Britain is the second largest military personnel contributor to the Kingdom,” Ambassador Lindsay told the 24X7 News. He also described the festival as successful by all means, stressing the British embassy’s support to it.
He also underscored the British community’s contribution to strengthening cooperation between both countries.
Indonesian Ambassador to Bahrain Chilman Arisman said 8000 Indonesian people in Bahrain consider the festival as a major event that reflects solidarity of the expatriate communities with Bahrain.
Malaysian Ambassador to Bahrain Ahmed Shahzan Abdulsamad emphasised the importance of participation of all in such unique events.
He described Bahrain as the second home of the expatriate communities, stressing the need to support Bahrain in its fast-paced development march.
He also hailed the royal directives to resume the National Consensus Dialogue, asserting his full support to this initiative which reflects the leadership’s keenness to protect human rights and personal freedoms.
Head of Chancery at Pakistan embassy Aurangzeb said the event was a true reflective of the existing brotherly ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
“For all Pakistanis, Bahrain is a second home and this faithfulness is seen among 100,000 Pakistani community members who have been pivotal to the development and stability of this great Nation,” he said.
Chairman Pakistan Club Iftkhar Lone said the Club being one of the oldest social entities in Bahrain would continue to play its due role in assimilation of two diverse cultures.
“We are overwhelmed by participating in this festive event and we continue support any such endeavour in future as part of loyalty to the leadership and people of Bahrain,” Lone added.
