Labour Minister Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, who opened the 10th Career Expo at Hamad Town Secondary School for Girls on Tuesday, highlighted the importance of new job opportunities for Bahrainis which estimated at 2400.
The three-day exhibition will provide a platform for private sector companies to showcase their vacancies and job opportunities for job-seekers.
The opening ceremony was attended by Northern Governor Ali bin Abdul Hussain Al Asfour, Labour Ministry Undersecretary Sabah Salim Al Dussari, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs Mohammed Ali Al Ansari, senior Labour Ministry officials and invitees.
The Labour Minister stressed that the exhibition is part of a line-up of initiatives aimed at providing more job opportunities for citizens and ensure a decent life for them.
He added providing job vacancies for citizens with specified criteria is a social culture being promoted by the government to tackle the issue of unemployment and its social and economic repercussions.
He pointed out that the most important requirement to lure investments is to provide well-trained and well-qualified national human resources.
He also stressed the need to boost social partnership in employing job-seekers so as to speed up achieving forecast goals and contribute to bolstering social security and stability.
He called on job-seekers to visit the expo and avail of more than 2400 job opportunities showcased by 28 participating establishments, as well as 1211 training opportunities in various disciplines.
